Hands are tough and durable and yet they are one of the most sensitive parts of the body. Fingers are even more sensitive than eyes, the fingertips have the densest area of receptors in the whole body that are responsible for sending messages directly to the brain. What message is your hand wash sending?
The first ingredient of most hand washes (meaning it is in the highest content) is water. You can’t get much better than that. Or can you? Real World hand washes take it one step further by using botanical hydrosols, as well as distilled water, providing you with further benefits from these enriching ingredients.
Next on the list in most of the big brand hand soaps is the chemical Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and/or its even less appealing cousin Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). SLS can be made from petroleum, coconut or palm oil which then undergoes another chemical process to become SLES. Both of these are commonly used in products as emulsifiers (to help keep oil and water phases properly mixed) and surfactants (creates lather) despite both being a well-known skin irritant causing skin dryness and contact dermatitis. The process of creating SLES often also produces 1, 4-dioxane, a toxic contaminant and likely carcinogen. Is this really what you want to be rubbing into your hands?
At Real World our hand washes contain cocobetaine and cocoglucoside, coconut derived foaming agents considered a much safer, natural alternative to sulfates.
Real World hand wash is cloudy because we prefer it that way for good reason: avoiding the extra addition of chemicals and the further neutralisation of those chemicals (namely with boric acid which is banned in some countries for use in cosmetics and soaps) just to make liquid soaps clear.
And this is just the beginning, at Real World we further treat your hands to a natural base combination of coconut oil, honey and glycerin that is gentle on your hands while continually moisturising them. Additional essential oils and natural fragrance oils leave your hands smelling fresh and fragrant while also providing further benefits ranging from anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic through to antiseptic and antibacterial, helping to tighten and tone your skin, keeping it clean and looking rejuvenated.
If you haven’t already switched to Real World, take a look at your current hand wash ingredients. Sodium chloride? Acrylates copolymer? Alpha-isomethyl ionone? Cocomide MEA? Butylphenyl methylpropional? The list goes on (and on and on). These ingredients help to keep the product cost down but what is the cost to your skin?
Real World is natural, plant based hand wash that is pure, nourishing and safe for the entire family without compromise.
